Decorating ideas for a wooen room divider.?
I am planning to make a room divider out of 3 panels of wood and hinges. I will paint a black border along the outside inch of each panel all the way around so it looks like a frame, and my room colors are black, brown, gold, (any maybe red if I can find some old curtains.) But what should I put on the inside. I want to be really creative but can not draw anything but a stick figure. I don’t just want to paint it one color so I need some help. The only ideas I came up with were attaching the following to the panels but how would I do that and how do I “finish” it? Is there a clear paint type glue or something. Also I don’t mind if all panels are different and I want to decorate both sides. This will be an art piece as well as a way to hide my clothes from guests.

Paint the edges like you said-only I'd go in about 4 inches all the way around because the panels are so large. Paint the inside area a matching gold or that red you want and decoupage the poems, pictures, bible verses, etc. Decoupage is like a glue and varnish in one. It soaks through the paper and protects it. Don't put anything there that you might want to frame later because it's not coming off, ever. Put them up so they show, but not necessarily in straight rows. Tipped and overlapping would look nice.
