Old Ranger .22cal. When was this made and by who?
I have a very old .22 single-shot rifle. It is marked on top the barrel with "Ranger .22cal" and hand-stamped with the number "586 944." The gun still shoots straight and i just want more info on it and cant find anything about it anywhere. the only thing wrong with it is that the ejector does not grab the spent shell and i have to pry out the empty.
I believe it was it's own brand. You know, plenty of old gun companies are no longer around; Iver Johnon, High Standard.
I used to own one myself. Fun gun to shoot BUT it had headspacing problems with the bolt. So, be sure to wear eye protection if you shoot it.
